Watson is one of the best known Puritans of the seventeenth century.

Watson opens this book with these two statements:
‘It is the duty of Christians to be settled in the doctrine of faith. The best way for Christians to be settled is to be well grounded.’ Then he proceeds to thoroughly catechize his audience, contending that all, not just children, should be regularly taught the Bible’s doctrines. And as Packer said, he does it sweetly.
Not a complete set of doctrines are covered in full in these pages, (but The Beatitudes and the Ten Commandments are), but those covered are done with much spiritual skill and knowledge.
Watson (1616?-1688?) was one of the more famous Puritan preachers, also a victim of the 1662 ejection of evangelical preachers from their pulpits. He authored a great many books, all of which are still revered, and many are classics still being printed. 660 pages, blue hard cover
