Commendations of Calvin, the great Reformer, the supreme commentator, would fill a large, 900-page volume. He is useful to all persuasions, not simply the Reformed, Calvinistic preachers. Those who have tried to picture him as one who strung his theological view into everything he wrote have perpetrated a falsehood. He is a fair and balanced commentator who deals strictly with the text before him so honestly that at times he seems to be going against his own theology. He makes his own translation, and they are very close to the original languages in which God wrote them. Whoever is so foolish as to be prejudiced against Calvin will but hurt their own understanding of God=s Word.
